RPDR parodies gender and gives the queens a platform to express who they are. They have given the LGBT community a mainstream show to love and enjoy. They challenge heteronormative stereotypes and are putting genderqueer representations into mainstream media. They may stick to the ‘fishy’ and ‘butch’ stereotypes, however overtime the meaning of drag is changing and people’s ideas of that drag can be has changed. For the narrative they use a range of narrative devices to help viewers engage with the show. And how elements like the story within the show, characters and narration help the show easier to watch and create elements of drama. And evoke pathos within the audience to make them relate to and love the characters.
Great stuff! The theories were very interesting to read, and you can tell you were incredibly passionate about the topic at hand.
